Fashion Ecommerce Website Design & Development

Design and development of a fashion ecommerce website from scratch, including brand identity, multilingual setup, multi-currency shopping, and performance-minded optimization of visual media.

Note: This project is no longer live and is presented here as part of my selected work.

Overview

This project involved the design and development of a fashion ecommerce website built entirely from scratch. The client provided the content, while the full visual direction, structure, user experience, and technical implementation were developed by me.

In addition to the website itself, the work also included logo design, multilingual setup, multi-currency shopping configuration, and pre-optimization of all images and videos used across the site.

The Brief

The goal was to create an online fashion store with a polished visual identity and a smooth shopping experience across desktop and mobile devices. The website needed to feel visually refined, easy to browse, and aligned with the expectations of a style-driven ecommerce audience.

The client came with content, but the overall system behind the site — from layout and navigation to presentation and user flow — had to be shaped from the ground up.

What I Did

I designed and developed the full website from scratch, defining both the visual direction and the structural logic of the store.

The project included:

  • full website design and development
  • logo design
  • WooCommerce store setup
  • multilingual implementation across two languages
  • multi-currency setup for two currencies
  • pre-optimization of videos and images for better loading and presentation
  • responsive adaptation for mobile shopping experience

The site was built to balance visual appeal with practical ecommerce functionality, making sure the store experience remained clear and accessible across different devices and user contexts.

Design Approach

Because the project was in the fashion space, the visual presentation had to carry more weight than in a purely technical or utility-driven build. The website needed to feel clean, modern, and product-focused, while still supporting the structure required for browsing and purchasing.

The homepage was designed to establish the tone of the brand immediately, using strong visuals and careful spacing to create a more editorial feel. Product listing and product page layouts were built to support browsing without overwhelming the user, and mobile layouts were adapted to preserve clarity on smaller screens.

The goal was not only to make the store look good, but to make the overall experience feel intentional and consistent.

Ecommerce Structure

Beyond the visual layer, the project required a complete ecommerce setup tailored to a broader audience.

This included:

  • a multilingual structure for two languages
  • a multi-currency shopping setup
  • product presentation across desktop and mobile
  • a sidebar help interface for buyers on the shop page
  • gallery and product display enhancements for a smoother product-viewing experience

These parts were important because the website was not just a visual showcase. It had to function as a complete shopping environment, with enough flexibility to support users coming from different language and currency contexts.

Performance & Media Preparation

Since the project relied heavily on visual content, media preparation was also part of the job. All videos and images used on the site were pre-optimized before implementation to reduce unnecessary weight and improve loading performance.

This helped the site maintain a more polished visual experience without making it feel sluggish, especially on image-heavy pages like the homepage, shop, and product layouts.

Outcome

The final result was a fully custom fashion ecommerce website with a distinct visual identity and a complete multilingual, multi-currency shopping setup.

It added an important design-led project to my body of work while also showing the technical side of ecommerce implementation — from WooCommerce structure and responsive behavior to media optimization and international store setup.

Although the website is no longer live, it remains a strong example of a project where visual direction, branding, and technical execution all had to work together as one system.
